PAA Completes Acquisition of Wapella Pipeline System |
(Houston – January 7, 2002) Plains All American Pipeline, L.P. (NYSE: PAA) announced today that Plains Marketing Canada, L.P., its wholly owned subsidiary, has completed the acquisition of the Wapella Pipeline System from private investors for approximately US$12.5 million, including transaction costs. The Wapella Pipeline System is located in southeastern Saskatchewan and southwestern Manitoba and currently delivers approximately 10,000 barrels per day of crude oil to the Enbridge Pipeline at Cromer, Manitoba. The acquisition also includes approximately 21,500 barrels of crude oil storage capacity located along the system as well as a truck terminal. The Partnership expects the acquired assets to generate an annual 15% - 20% return on capital.
